Consult Descriptions
Each consult can be held in the hospital, your home, my office or virtually.
Initial Consultation
60-90 Minutes
Prior to the initial meeting, we will have gathered information about you and the baby's health, as well as the pregnancy and delivery. We will want to know the baby's birth weight, any changes in weight since then, and some family health history. We will want to know how the baby has been eating, the wet and dirty diapers of the infant, ect.

During the private consultation, the baby’s appearance, behavior, and a feeding will be observed, a weight check will occur, examination of breasts & nipples will be done, addressing any concerns and all questions will be answered. You will be given handouts via links and instructions to help remember what was discussed. Our lactation consultants work with any other providers such as pediatricians, obgyns, doulas, midwives, ENTS, occupational therapists, and others.

Follow Up Consultation
60 minutes
This is for after an initial consultation has been scheduled.

You will be given handouts and instructions to help remember what was discussed.

Weight Check Consultation
30 minutes
This is for after an initial consultation has been scheduled. A recheck of weight or checking in will be 30 minutes.
During the private consultation, a weight check will occur and addressing any concerns and all questions will be answered.

Prenatal Consultation
30-60 minutes
This consultation is designed to help families feel well informed about all feeding decisions with evidenced based information. Topics will cover the history of breastfeeding, what to expect during pregnancy, golden hours, first few days, & the first year, different ways of providing breast milk to infants, and any specific questions. A detailed health history will be taken of the parent.
